“The right front wheel/ tire separated from the suspension while driving. I was on the 5th floor of a parking garage. I was told this was directly caused by the lower ball joint failing. This was on a 2005 Jeep Liberty renegade. Recall repairs previously performed on front lower ball joints on 04/09/2007. I no longer own this vehicle.”

NHTSA complaint #11399689, filed 2021-03, 110,814 miles

“The front right and left suspension upper and lower control arms broke. I was backing down my driveway when this happened. I noticed the rear ones are under recall but not the front, NHTSA #18v-278. I had it towed to a auto shop and they want $2600 to repair.”

NHTSA complaint #11165225, filed 2019-01, 77,012 miles

“I noticed when driving my 2005 Jeep Liberty, when I came to a stop or pulled off, I would hear a noise underneath the back of my car, sounding like a jarring sound , like something was loose..my car's steering wasn't as relaxed as it should have been when turning especially..this noise kept getting louder, I eventually had it towed to the shop because of this problem and a issue with the thermostat..to find out my rear drive shaft had popped.”

NHTSA complaint #11267012, filed 2019-10, 97,000 miles

“Rear control arms rusted and one broke completely in two sending me into the oncoming lane. Luckily I was on a city street with a low MPH and I was traveling straight when it broke. Chrysler tells me there is a recall but my vehicle is not from one of the states affected by the recall.”

NHTSA complaint #10968292, filed 2017-03, 219,495 miles

“Lower front right ball joint snapped while I was driving. Called Jeep and they said it was recalled and replaced. I asked for a location and a service order and the would not give it to me. They keep telling me to take it to the Jeep dealer which I cant because it is broke. These ball joints where recalled for breaking. Now for a second time it broke and I cant get any proof that it was ever replaced”
