“I've been battling bad shifting problems and spent thousands of dollars trying to resolve the issue. After replacing the transmission, lots of diagnostic fees, and now a PCM module. I've learned after 8 months, that chrysler can't seem to solve the PCM problem and left the aftermarket to resolve it. I luckily found a company who can resolve it. Tribal knowledge is that chrysler couldn't figure it out and some parts are no longer available. This is unacceptable!”

“2006 Jeep Wrangler unlimited after getting fuel filled I pull out of station and it starts hesitating and then stalls in middle of street. It nearly caused an accident from car behind me I had to restart and it would stall and bog few more times then run ok. …”

NHTSA complaint #10700879, filed 2015-03, 104,230 miles

“I was driving my 2006 Jeep Wrangler rubicon manual 6 speed transmission with less than 15,000 miles on it when without warning it stopped accelerating. I was in 4th gear at the time. I tried to switch gears and was unable to put it into any gear and was stuck coasting in neutral. I stopped the car and was again unable to put the car into any gear while the engine was on. …”

NHTSA complaint #10217814, filed 2008-02, 14,988 miles

“Trac bar had to be replaced after 74k. Along with the replacement, steering stabilizer and alignment was required. This was a costly repair. Now, 20k later, trac bar is again needing to be replaced. After much research, this issue is experienced by a huge amount of Wrangler owners, but chrysler has never addressed the issue. I love my Jeep, but am unsure if I would buy another. This flaw creates a huge hazard. The entire front end shakes uncontrollably and essentially becomes very hard to control.”

NHTSA complaint #10432586, filed 2011-10, 74,000 miles

“I own a 2006 Jeep Wrangler se which I bought in may 22, 2009 with 14000 miles. On june 7th the vehicle front end began to shake and wobble the entire car and steering wheel uncontrollably after reaching 45-50 MPH or on a rough road or just a slight bump in the road makes the vehicle have this problem. This happened to me 5 separate times today all while either the vehicle was in gear or in neutral and wouldn't stop until I slowed the vehicle down to 30 or came to a stop.”
