“Left side strut tower rusted through on 1999 Plymouth voyager, I noticed this after we had bought it in 2005 and was told that it would not be covered from chrysler, found out that I was not the only one this had happened too, chrysler made the mistake and they should stand behind it, I was getting maintenance when it fell apart, lucky it didn't happen on the highway.”
NHTSA complaint #10292914, filed 2009-11, 157,000 miles“The strut tower on my '99 Plymouth Grand Voyager has rusted out on the drivers side. My dealer has informed me that it is a safety issue and needs to be addressed right away. When looking on-line at this problem, many other people have the same issue. It seems that they should have a recall, or fix the problem.”
NHTSA complaint #10258110, filed 2009-02, 107,000 miles“I've purchased a 1999 Grand Voyager and noticed that the driver side strut tower was rotting out and the passenger side was starting to rust as well , but not to the degree as the drivers side.. I looked up and found no recall this situation, but was informed that chrysler ,Plymouth , dodge , knew about this since 1996 but did nothing to correct it until 2001. I enjoy my vehicle but the repairs for this problem are a bit too much for me at this time due to my disability ,and the fact that I am on a very limited income. Is there any one that can assist me in getting my vehicle repair?”
NHTSA complaint #10701562, filed 2015-03, 118,000 miles“I own a 1999 Plymouth voyager minivan. It has 75,000 miles and the strut towers, an itegral part of the suspension/steering system are failing. Rust has compromised therir structural integrity. Except for strange sounds from the area of the towers no incidents have occurred thus far.”
NHTSA complaint #10062105, filed 2004-03, 70,000 miles“Air bag warning lamp continuously illuminated with failure of horn & cruise control. Previous year models are being recalled for same clockspring not being wound correctly during installation.”
