2013 Ram 1500 Tires Problems

“I was driving 35 MPH on an asphalt paved road in my 2013 Ram 1500 crew cab, with 3,842 miles on the odometer, on 11/july/2014. The left front tire, goodyear wrangler sr-a 275/60r20, exploded violently causes instant deflation. The tire tread split completely in half from outside top of rim to inside top of rim. During the process of all this, the tire managed to mangle my inner fender wall and rip my left front fender from its anchor bolts causing $1,200 worth of damage. Sears auto department replaced the tire at no charge due to being covered by roadside assistance. …”

“We had a total tire failure on our 2013 dodge Ram tire. They are goodyear p27560r20 sr-a this tire blew out at 60 MPH on a state hiway in near burns or. The road was clear of any objects. This tire split from bead coil to bead coil, in a perfectly straight line. I have contacted gy and their response was the old firestone two step. Not our problem. There was 5000 miles (about) on the tire at the time and most on this trip. Had 4 tire shop look at the tire on this trip trying to get a replacement. All the tiremen that seen the tire said they had never senn anything like this before. …”

The contact stated that while driving 5 MPH on a gravel road, the front driver side tire became punctured by one of the rocks causing it to deflate. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician diagnosed that the failure occurred as a result of the tires not being rated as truck tires, which caused them to easily become punctured. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The tires were not replaced. Neither the VIN nor the DOT number was available. …”

The contact stated that while driving at 25 MPH, a loud sound emitted from the rear of the vehicle. After inspecting the vehicle, the contact noticed that the rear passenger side tire had blown out. The contact mentioned that after installing the spare tire and reversing out of the residential garage, the front driver side tire blew out causing damage to the fender. “2013 dodge Ram 1500. Consumer writes in regards to transmission shifts hard, tire balance issues, clock, ignition malfunction and other mechanic problems. The consumer stated the clock and ignition switch were repaired. The upper ball joints failed. The dealer offered to assist with repairs for the tires, but the consumer declined.
