“Been experiencing a 'service airbag system' across my info screen along with an annoying tone. It happens when the vehicle is running, parked, as well as all forward and reverse gears. Today was the first opportunity I had to get the truck into the dealership to diagnose the issue. Found that the airbag in the drivers side seat has a faulty circuit. I believe that this is a major safety issue & should be repaired by the manufacturer.”

NHTSA complaint #11413572, filed 2021-04, 75,000 miles

“I have a warning light lit up for the air bags and the message on the saved messages says service air bags. The air bags have never deployed for any reason. The warning light came on when I started the truck for the first time it wasn't moving when the light first came on.”

NHTSA complaint #11319586, filed 2020-03, 108,000 miles

“I purchased this truck and had issues and would like to be in the takata recall list. Brought in to dealership 2 weeks after purchase and was told I have to pay for repairs they do not cover these areas very upset. Please help me... Thank you it happens when I start my vehicle and when moving...”

NHTSA complaint #11098322, filed 2018-05, 90,000 miles

“As of yet, there has not been an accident happen. However, I just finished a 15 mile drive and my airbag light and the message service airbag system has come on and off 6 times at random. In doing my own research, if the clockspring in the wheel which connects the airbag loses connection it will cause that fault possibly leading to an airbag failure to deploy in the event of an accident. This happened both while moving and also while stationary.”

NHTSA complaint #11173458, filed 2019-02, 114,425 miles

“Accelerating from stop light and at 35 MPH a loud explosion was heard from the passenger dash area. I thought I saw some powdery dust afterward. Took the truck to the dealership and explained what happened. They did a drb computer test and road test. Nothing found. Also there were no dash warning lights. When it happened my first thought was the air bag charge went off, but why didn't the bag come out.”

NHTSA complaint #10586941, filed 2014-04, 5,200 miles
