“In 2008 my 2006 Camry had the warning light for the seat belt come on. Wellesley Toyota corrected the problem. I took the car back in 2009 twice for the same problem. The problem reoccurred in 2010 and I had it repaired at another Toyota dealer. Since then it comes on and other times goes out. Now it is permanently on.”

NHTSA complaint #10579687, filed 2014-04, 139,000 miles

“Air bag light came on intermittently for weeks before coming on in february 2015. Thinking it was not urgent, I took the car into the dealership and they ran the code. They informed me that the air bag computer sensor had failed which was located in the passenger seat and had to be replaced, totally $3300 for parts. Air bags may not deploy properly or deploy unexpectedly until fixed. Expensive repair for car nearing end of its life.”

NHTSA complaint #10716288, filed 2015-05, 46,000 miles

“The airbag warning light came on in the car. We brought it to the dealer and were told that there is an internal open inside circuit in the side air bag of the passenger seat. Because this is an integral problem with the seat, it needs to be replaced. Approximate cost with tax is $3400.00. Other similar complaints are on the internet. I believe that there is a systemic issue with the seat/air bag system.”

NHTSA complaint #10487310, filed 2012-12, 28,100 miles

“Traffic light was green, I entered intersection and hit another vehical broadside. My car received damage to the front bumper, the left front fender, and the right front fender. Air bags did not deploy.”

NHTSA complaint #10715219, filed 2015-05, 42,500 miles

“Srs (supplemental restraint system) indicator warning light came on & stays on. Brought the vehicle in to my local Toyota dealer who notified me that they found open circuit in seat squibb not serviceable part $3154.28 to replace the seat. The passenger side airbags will not deploy in an accident.”
