“My daughter was driving our Camry to work on dry city pavement. She was going through an intersection (her light was green) when she was hit by a cadillac escalade. The impact was hard enough it spun her around on a dry city street and made the car jump a curb. The escalade ran a red light. The side impact air bags did not deploy. Toyota said they behaved as expected.”

NHTSA complaint #10944421, filed 2017-01, 130,000 miles

“I adjusted the steering column while at a stop light. When I locked everything in place, the airbag light lit up. All of the controls on the steering wheel do not work. I can't use the horn; turn the radio on or make hands free calls. I took it to Toyota and they said it was the wiring harness for the airbag and it was an expensive repair. I've left it alone for 5 years. I figure with the takata air bag issue I might be better off.”

NHTSA complaint #11327905, filed 2020-06, 100,000 miles

“I own a Toyota Camry le 2007. I am having problems with the speedometer, tachometer and temperature gauges. While in motion, they will cease to indicate proper readings and drop to zero. At the same time, the ABS and parking brake warning lights turns on and stay for a duration of 10 to 30 minutes. Also the A/C goes off when these two lights turn on.”

NHTSA complaint #10593193, filed 2014-05, 84,000 miles

“Takata recall - for some reason this model has never appeared on the takata recall list and I am concerned as my car ages that this is an incident waiting to happen. How can this be addressed? By the way I am the original and only owner of this 2007 Toyota Camry.”

NHTSA complaint #11229361, filed 2019-07, 130,000 miles

“When I entered my vehicle, the right passenger side air bag cover was hanging down. It is still attached at the bottom, but hanging from the top. I have not recently been in an accident, so there is nothing that I could have done to have this happen. I cannot pop it back into place and am worried should an accident occur, the air bag will not be of any use.”
