“Front end was totaled, frame exposed, area surrounding airbag trigger obviously smashed and exposed, yet no airbag deployment! This vehicle rear-ended another vehicle (stationary) while driving at approximately 40-45mph. My daughters head broke the windshield. An appropriate airbag deployment would have prevented this. I thought this was a safe car. Please investigate and save others.”

NHTSA complaint #11257470, filed 2019-09, 250,000 miles

“Safety system warning light has come on and the local dealership)cobb parkway, marietta, ga) said there are not any recalls on the year of my Camry. Safety system light will not go off and I am afraid in case of an accident, I will not have air bag protection.”

NHTSA complaint #11232402, filed 2019-07, 40,035 miles

“Takata recall I never got notice that my 209 Camry had a problem with the takata airbag. When checking you sight, the only place I can get it replaced is over 2 hours away from y home. I bought the vehicle new from sparks Toyota in myrtle beach and should be able to get it repaired there!”

NHTSA complaint #11035224, filed 2017-10, 128,000 miles

“While driving in the rain at approximately 35 MPH hydroplaned on an highway exit ramp that was a sharp loop/curve. The car hit head on the end of the guardrail which had a square plate. The entire front end and hood of the Camry was smashed and the air bags never deployed. I was wearing my seat belt which somewhat restrained me but hit my head on the steering wheel and suffered a concussion.”

NHTSA complaint #10639363, filed 2014-09, 76,000 miles

“As noted by other safety recalls for Toyota that did not include the 2009 Camry something malfunctioned in my steering wheel and the airbag is no longer functioning as well as the buttons on the steering wheel or cruise control I believe this is the same issue other vehicles made by Toyota have had safety recalls for and do not believe it to be an odd coincidence that I would then have that same issue. I am hoping that others report this so that the Camry can be added to that recall.”
