“I bought my 2009 Toyota Camry le 2.4 in 2011 and last year I started having problem with driver side sun visor, it started not to stay complete closed and started to stay open, I took the vehicle to the dealer, they said it needs to be replaced but I did not want to pay for it, now I am trying to see if this is a recall or manufacturer fault.”

NHTSA complaint #10994407, filed 2017-06, 120,000 miles

“I recently bought a used 2009 Camry, with a melting dashboard. The car salesperson told me it's just cleaner, so of course I believed them. Although, when I got home I read all about Toyota's problem with melting dashboards. I am very upset with this company's interior manufacturing. There is an intense reflection on the windshield due to the sticky dashboard. This makes it hard to see while driving.”

NHTSA complaint #11015203, filed 2017-08, 119,700 miles

“The dash board is very sticky and went the sunlights hit in directly it reflects the sun into my eyes this occurs every day. I live in puerto rico and this is my travel car every day when the sun is always shining. This make me cause to put a tinted glass paper to reduce the sunlight reflection frontal the dashboard but it continue to reflects the sun light.”

NHTSA complaint #10631932, filed 2014-09, 102,000 miles

“Dashboard is sticky and shiny. I brought the car to west kendall Toyota. Advisor said he would get me a quote. The quote for me is $400 to replace the dashboard. This is not right and Toyota should cover the total cost. The sheen on the dash also creates a glare on sunny days, which create a safety hazard. Toyota is avoiding a recall for the use of inferior parts.”

NHTSA complaint #10588962, filed 2014-05, 34,000 miles

“I purchased a used 2009 Camry base model from the original owner. She notified me that the driver side visor is broken on the inside of the visor. It hangs down obstructing driver's view even when snapped into place. I took it to a shop to be fixed and they told me they have seen this on almost every 2009 Camry and there is no way to fix it, only replace it at my own cost. This is a defect that should have been recalled.”
