“Srs warning light and trac control warning light and seat belt warnings for both passenger and driver flashing. I checked online and couldnt figure out the codes. I figured out that this was blowing fuse 29 on the car as soon as the ignition is turned on. I went to the local mechanic shop, ali automotive in santa clara, ca. They read the codes and the faults displayed are the steering angle sensor fault and passenger classification system fault (if I recall correctly). As the air bags are no longer active this is a safety issue. …”

“On sunday, may 18, 2014, I started my 2010 Toyota Camry and my check engine and vehicle stability control lights were on. I had no previous issues with the car. I called the local dealership on monday morning to make an appointment, the first one I could get was just over a week away. I questioned the dealership if my car was safe to drive and they said yes, as long as the vsc light wasn't blinking. My car was checked by the dealership on may 27. I was told my brake actuator had gone out and the repairs were around $2,400 before taxes. …”

NHTSA complaint #10595480, filed 2014-06, 54,000 miles

“I am having issues with my Camry bouncing, swaying, pulling left and right, the engine, transmission or axles shake. It feels like the brakes are pulsing or on at random times. I believe there are several issues with this car and Toyota is not reporting the problems. I also believe the mechanics are falsifying documents which are affecting my safety and the safety of others. Brake issues are life threating and Toyota assured me my car is safe. I have been at the dealership 5 times to have the issues fixed but the dealer first blamed the tires and balancing. …”

NHTSA complaint #10502408, filed 2013-03, 24,394 miles

“Vehicle purchase nov 2009. 2010 Toyota le Camry. Noticed within first 200 miles that vehicle accelerated and down shifted during turns. Voiced compliant. No action. Recall announced, told had to wait for letter for repair. Brought vehicle back same problem. Then fixed. Vehicle at 1700 miles driving like stick shift car jumps as changing gears. May jump as breaking causing an incomplete timely stop. Currently at 2200 miles driving rough on road and shifting self as driving so power will immediately increase then decrease. Scared to drive new vehicle. …”

NHTSA complaint #10314579, filed 2010-02, 200 miles

“Purchased new 2010 Toyota Camry le , in first week acknowledged to dealership that it was shifting itself slowly like a stick shift. Also quickly accelerating when braking on turns. Told normal let the car break in. Few weeks trouble still continue. Took to dealership, told yes there is recall but need to wait for letter. At 1600 miles accelerator was changed, however vehicle still driving unsafely hard to come to complete stop, takes to long like it is downshifting. Vehicle jumps as driving and is riding rough. Now at 2000 miles and first payment dur not comfortable in car. …”
