“I was driving when I felt the seat belt tighten very hard and I saw the airbag icon on the dashboard. Luckily the traffic light turned red and I was able to stop. At that moment the airbag exploded. I did not hit myself so I managed to get out of the car and I saw the passenger's airbag exploded. My car did not hit anything and luckily no one was hurt.”

NHTSA complaint #11383566, filed 2020-12, 166 miles

“Is the car safe since the airbag recall takata said that the cannot accept or deny it and Toyota said they did not know ask takata. I saw the class action lawsuit and they sent me the card for 9997 at the start lile they were going to buy back my car or cut me a check so I could squash it and get another one. Please”

NHTSA complaint #11074414, filed 2018-02, 258,000 miles

“I looked up my vehicles recalls and noticed that there is one related to airbags. Coincidently I do have an air bag light lit on my car and it seems like my model year is susceptible to shorts in the system. I contacted the dealer and they told me that they have a 6 week or more wait on the recall and they will contact me. I find this to unacceptable for a safety feature.”

NHTSA complaint #10914862, filed 2016-10, 90,000 miles

“My vehicle has been recalled due to the passenger front air bag since june 10, 2014, and a remedy is still not available. I have spoken with Toyota twice over the past 3 weeks and they are unable to give me any timeline on when a remedy may be available. This is unacceptable to leave a customer without a safety remedy for nearly one year. It is even more egregious that they are unable to provide a timeline of any sort on when a remedy will be available.”

NHTSA complaint #10723481, filed 2015-06, 94,000 miles

“I brought my car to Toyota due to a recall (sra, ecu). After Toyota performed work the seat belt audible alarm does not function and is therefore dangerous. Toyota could not find problem after spending six hours. Driving without functioning seat belt alarm is dangerous. I have copies of Toyota dealer work orders. Dealer will not fix problem they caused by installing the recall.. Toyota USA refuses to fix it. I would not ever have a recall by manufactuer done again. Too dangerous. ## VIN passed ## Toyota carolla 2004 ##”
