“Takata recall-the headlights are very dim. You have turn on the brights in order to see in normal night vision areas. While bright is too bright to drive for on coming traffic. I almost had an accident of running off the road due to not being able to see the lane or the people walking along side the road. I can't believe there hasn't been a recall for this danger. I have only had the car 2yrs.”

NHTSA complaint #11165353, filed 2019-01, 51,000 miles

“The low beam (dim lights) are horrible. I almost hit a man walking on the side of the road last night. You cannot see 30' in front of the vehicle when lights are on dim. You have to drive with the high beams on. The high beam works great, but vehicles coming at you are getting blinded by your high beams. You switch to low beam, then you cannot see! I have seen all the complaints on the internet. I cannot believe this issue hasn't been recalled. Shame on the government for not fixing this safety issue.”

NHTSA complaint #11161504, filed 2018-12, 30,000 miles

“The headlights on low beam , have become too dim. we have replaced the bulbs , but they did the same thing. Low beam visibility is definitely a safety issue. Took the vehicle to a body shop, and they concluded the whole light assembly would need replacement, to remedy the issue. No warning lights or messages have ever appeared. We had them replace both light assemblies, and the problem was resolved. We feel it should be a warranty issue.”

NHTSA complaint #11641279, filed 2025-02

“I recently had to drive at night. The low beams are so dim you cannot drive. I have to drive with the high beams. The low beams are on, but not bright enough to drive. What is the fix for this. Thanks”

NHTSA complaint #11603152, filed 2024-07

“I was driving in the rain with the front windshield wipers on and when I attempted to adjust the speed with the lever on the steering wheel column the front wipers stopped working roughly 1/2 the way up on the windshield. It was raining, and I was not able to see the road in front of me. I managed to pull into a retail parking lot and waited for the rain to subside before continuing to drive the vehicle. The wipers do not work even after restarting the vehicle multiple times. I checked the fuse that that is not the problem. …”
