“The transmission locked up when slowing down at a exit from ohio turnpike. The vehicle was throne into a skid just missing two light poles. The vehicle only had 505 miles on it ,the dealer installed a new transmission in it . We now have 650 miles on it and hope this or other issues of safety don't arise .we hope that there are not other trucks out there with this problem .”

NHTSA complaint #11341057, filed 2020-07, 505 miles

“The engine block heater in my truck keeps tripping the circuit breaker. Dealership says it that 'it appears that the block heater cord is shorted recommend replacing cord' estimate $500. I understand that Chevy has recalled some trucks from this year for this very problem however it and they don't include my truck. This is a fire safety hazard!!! The company admits it is a safety issue. Why isn't my truck on the list? Here is the article I found on it. …”

NHTSA complaint #11714558, filed 2026-01

“I am filing a safety and health complaint regarding a known rear window water intrusion defect on my 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 with approximately 56,000 miles. Despite the severity of the issue, the dealership has refused to provide a permanent repair. This defect is widely documented and has resulted in a recall in Canada, yet no recall exists in the United States—despite significantly more of these vehicles being sold here. The inconsistency in recall coverage is deeply concerning. …”

NHTSA complaint #11707083, filed 2025-12

“While plowing, my ABS brake light came on along with a warning that the ESC was disabled and a trailer brake system warning.. This appears to have been a recall for 2020 1500's but I have a 2500. It would appear the recall needs to be expanded.”

NHTSA complaint #11446923, filed 2022-01

“We received a recall on this truck 2/2025 showing that there was a transmission control valve defect that was causing excessive wear on the gears. We took it into Sands Chevrolet and they did a repair under warranty. Within a few weeks, the truck again lost power, would not go over 30 MPH and caused a safety issue as it happened while on the highway. We immediately took the truck back to Sands who informed us of the recall and that the transmission needed to be repaired because of the excessive wear under the recall. Sands Chevrolet told us it would be 2 months before they could repair it. …”
