“Tipm - total integrated power module failure. Car intermittently won't start, keeps the fuel pump on draining the battery, radio won't work, air conditioning. I replaced the battery the first time it drained it thinking the battery went bad. Cost me 3 times in towing charges. Felt like it was stalling while driving a few times. Can only be repaired at the dealer's and they say it is over $1,500 to repair.”
NHTSA complaint #11387944, filed 2021-01, 50,000 miles“When driving at 30mph my van accelerated on its on without the gas pedal being touched. I had to push my brakes, I then pulled over. When attempting to drive my van again it did the same thing again. My malfunction indicator light came on the dash after the second acceleration. I then had my car towed.”

Now in jan 2016 we had to replace the battery again and after running diagnostic we found out the the tipm needs to be replaced. The vehicle will try to crank however it will not always turn over.”
NHTSA complaint #10822642, filed 2016-01, 79,000 miles“The van has had a number of recent issues with not starting, or stalling after the car was already running. Both issues are dangerous (being stranded or car cutting off randomly). The dealership said they had to replace the tipm. After doing research on my own, this appears to be a common issue, and the repair is over $1000. I can't believe there has not yet been a recall for this, but feel strongly that one should be issued.”
NHTSA complaint #10670484, filed 2015-01, 74,000 miles“Ac quit functioning; auto repair shop informed me that the AC lines run parallel to brakelines, often resulting in AC lines that are compromised by friction. The mechanic considers this a design flaw and has seen it in numerous Dodge grand caravans, but usually older models and/or higher mileage than mine. The AC lines are all part of a singular system, so the part needs to be ordered from chrysler (who is backordered); I was informed that it is at least a 2-day job to install. Estimated cost: $675.”
