“Electric locks on my 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan have stopped working. The vehaicle is supposed to automatically lock at a certain speed to insure saftey of children inside. I have found this is the number one complaint on this vehicle. Why has Dodge not been made to recall and repair this--or at least come up witha reasonable and cost efficient way to correct this???”

NHTSA complaint #10307378, filed 2010-02, 140,000 miles

“In 2013, the airbag sensor light came on as I was driving. I went to the dealership and was told it was the seat belt tensioner, which they replaced. Two years later, the airbag light came on again as I was driving and I took it to a local garage. I was told it was the seat belt tensioner again and they replaced it. The airbag light came on again in 2016 and they cleaned it out. On march 4, 2017, the airbag light came on again and I was told it was the seat belt tensioner again. As of march 5th, the light no longer comes on. …”

“I have 2005 Grand Caravan with 76k miles. The passenger sliding door stops opening after about 6 inches. Many owners are having same issue. I wish there would be a recall on this. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------”

NHTSA complaint #10379587, filed 2011-01, 96,000 miles

“The auto door locks failed. There is only one key lock when the door locking system doesn't work. If I have to get to the passenger in the back passenger side of the car, it is almost impossible to get there quickly. Also when the door locking system isn't working I can't lock my trunk. Dodge knows of the problem, but has not issued a repair recall. Without a working door locking system, it isn't safe. I have a hard time opening the passenger door. I have to reach very far across the car. I don't feel safe not being able to lock my trunk either.”

NHTSA complaint #10780943, filed 2015-10, 129,000 miles

“Electric locks: after 36000 miles and no more warranty on the vehicle the power locks quit working. I found that pulling the battery would resolve the issue for a short while but it would come back again and that doing this could cause issues with how the engine ran for a while and of course the radio and clock would have to be reset. After researching the issue I found that this is known issue and that it would require a firmware upgrade on the vehicle on board computer. The manufacterer nor dealer would do this at no cost. It cost me $85.00 to get the update. …”
