“I have a 2017 Dodge caravan about a year after I bought it my hazard lights started activating when my middle sliding doors would open. I thought it was a great safety feature, while being confused why it had just started happening 1 day. Then a few months later my locks would and still make a distracting buzzing sound when the doors get locked or unlocked. Is there a safety recall on any of these issues?”
NHTSA complaint #11390464, filed 2021-01, 40,000 miles“Vehicle was stationary, had the car for not even one year. The driver's side back sliding door is stuck in the lock position. It will not unlock manually or electronically. We have 2 little kids and this would be a dangerous situation if an accident occurred and we had to get our kids out quickly.”
NHTSA complaint #11311950, filed 2020-02, 50,000 miles“The rear sliding doors opened, I loaded my child and gear into the van. When we reached our destination, the dies would not unlock or open, trapping her in the car. We had to have her climb into the passenger seat and exit that way. The van was parked, engine off.”
NHTSA complaint #11404430, filed 2021-03, 85,000 miles“Oil housing unit failed at 72,000 miles. Dodge stated it should be a recall, they can't even keep up with the parts to replace it when it fails. They told me to use an after market part that would fail but it would at least get the car back in my possession.”
NHTSA complaint #11396929, filed 2021-02, 78,000 miles“Van accelerated for approximately 1 minute. I was on the highway. I slammed on the breaks and was able to maintain a speed of 55 miles per hour. Gas peddle seemed stuck. A red flashing lightning sign illuminated and then went away. The van then stopped accelerating. I called a tow truck to take to dealership and now lights are on at all. User manual states that it is an electronic throttle control indicator light.”
