Example complaints

Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“The front winshield wipers only work on high speed. When you shut off the wipers they stop wherever they want to. This is very dangerous for visibility purposes. High speed wipers are not always needed.”

NHTSA complaint #11300638, filed 2020-01, 60,000 miles

“Initially, the component that was failing was the rear wiper blade. The wiper blade would not perform a proper rotation. It wouldn’t move at all when I would turn the switch, but anytime the car was unlocked or locked. The door was open or closed the blade would move. A few days later, one reverse light was out. The rear wiper doesn’t really pose any risks but with my reverse lights, failing and any other lights in the rear could be a safety issue. …”

NHTSA complaint #11692894, filed 2025-10

“The contact owns a 2017 Dodge Journey. Upon inspection, the contact noticed that the rear window was shattered as if there was forced entry or an individual had broken the glass. The dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 50.”

NHTSA complaint #11051046, filed 2017-11, 50 miles

“Throttle system gave out in 2018. Had the system replaced. Throttle light is still coming on and will lose pressure. And the rear back windshield wiper will not go all the way down. And heating/cooling system is not working properly in the front part of the SUV. Or in the back”

NHTSA complaint #11554771, filed 2023-11

“Nothing has happened yet rear window wipers don't completely go all the way causing a blindspot when you look out it. Driver cannot see passager side in rear window.”

NHTSA complaint #10947636, filed 2017-01
