“I was driving and noticed my right blinker flashing quickly so I got a new rear right turn signal bulb. When replacing the bulb I noticed that the bulb was melted into the socket. I checked the other side and it was charred and melted even worse then the bulb that wasn't working. This is very scary and a safety hazard as it could start a fire and my child is in the back seat!”

NHTSA complaint #10915017, filed 2016-10, 91,500 miles

“Dome lights by rear view mirror do not go off. Since this is a problem with many Ford vehicles; I feel it should be a recall. I got a notice months ago about a recall about the takata air bags on my Ford EDGE, also. Still awaiting the repair. The recall said to wait for them to call.”

NHTSA complaint #10908133, filed 2016-09, 48,940 miles

“Driving down the road and all of a sudden my brake pedal got real spongy and then sounded like air blowing through lines. Barely got home with minimal brake usage. I was driving on lee road luckily not too far from my home. Also fog lights don't work. Not sure if it's a switch related problem or something else. It also feels like the transmission is acting up like the car doesn't want to go especially in reverse without really getting on the pedal. And it rolls backwards on hills like it's a manual transmission”

NHTSA complaint #11408502, filed 2021-04, 227,000 miles

“The rear turn signal bulbs on my 2007 Ford EDGE are burning out on a regular basis of approx every 4-5 month. The bulbs and assembly both show signs of blackening and melting. The issue only seems to be with the rear turn signals. I haven't had to replace any other exterior lights since I purchased the car in apr 2011.”

NHTSA complaint #10456001, filed 2012-04, 58,000 miles

“One of the rear blinkers went bad twice since I had the car and when I went to replace it the socket that the bulb goes into was black and melted. The first time the blinker went out the car was under warranty so the dealer replaced the bulb. I feel that this issue need to be addressed soon because other than being annoying having to replace the bulb it seems like a fire hazard.”
