“Door ajar light will not go off on drivers door (front left) when starting vehicle. When turning off vehicle dome lights will not go off both instants I have to continue to open and close door and play with the lock until the door ajar light or dome lights goes off. I have read that this is a big problem that Ford does not recognize.”
NHTSA complaint #10862301, filed 2016-04, 28,000 miles“My door sensor on the driver side passenger door light stays on when the door is completely shut. So the dome light stays on. Also when you are driviing the doors don't lock. I just purchased this vehicle this past october. It was good for about 2 weeks then the door sensor started going on and off. Now it is staying on all the time.”
NHTSA complaint #10824309, filed 2016-02, 73,125 miles“My interior lighting stays on when I am in reverse because the drivers door ajar is always on, I almost hit my neighbor and cliped his dog because it is impossible to see out the back window when backing while the interior lights are on. This is a huge safety problem. I have filed on this before but now it has become a real problem. What if I had hit my neighbor? Safety issue.”
NHTSA complaint #10933776, filed 2016-12, 43,000 miles“The door ajar light is always on and the interior light stay and which causes the battery to die. I have to open and close the door numerous times in order to get the interior lights off. Sometimes the door won't even catch and has flown open while driving with my 8 year old child in the vehicle”
NHTSA complaint #10986063, filed 2017-05, 43,000 miles“Driver door ajar light has started coming on regularly even though all doors are shut. Sometimes it happens while driving and I get a shift to park warning. I then have to pull over and slam the door shut several times to clear it. It's becoming a hassle and lights stay on so it drains the battery. This is a defect and Ford should issue a recall and fix this issue. It's a safety hazard as far as I'm concerned.”
