“Power transfer unit failed. Cost to fix was $2,800.00. I brought it to the Ford dealer a couple of times. After diagnosing it myself I asked them to check power transfer unit which was making a metallic sound. I did some research and found this is a very common and possibly dangerous and certainly costly condition with this car.”

NHTSA complaint #11390696, filed 2021-01, 74,000 miles

“My 2013 Ford EDGE randomly stalls doesn't matter if I'm turning going slow or straight and going fast. The wrench light will show up. I usually stop, shut it down and restart it. It's pretty frightening. I brought it to the repair shop and they said it might be the throttle bottle. Got that cleaned up which was to dirty and still stalling.”

NHTSA complaint #11276991, filed 2019-10, 76,000 miles

“When I go to put my car I park and take my foot off the break the car will roll forward several feet or if I am on a hill it will roll backward several feet. When I am driving on the highway the car will just stop accelerating at 80mph. On several occasions I was trying to get around a truck and the car just stopped accelerating almost causing an accident.”

NHTSA complaint #11074419, filed 2018-02, 100,000 miles

“While I was driving my Ford Edge 2013 limited, the car shuts off and I lost control of the steering wheel and brakes. I almost hit a pole do the steering wheel going hard. I’m not the only person with this I problem. This happened to me before.”

NHTSA complaint #11546917, filed 2023-09, 104,542 miles

“The advance trac warning light comes on if the car has been idling for more than 5 minutes. The traction control light comes on and say my traction control is off. The car only has 38,000 miles. I have heard that others have had this issue with the Ford EDGE. Once I start moving the warning light will eventually go away after a few minutes.”
