“Car sounded rough when I started it after work with vibration noise that got louder as I drove and louder still when it was idling at lights. Drove straight to the dealership - it's a cracked flex plate. Upon research this seems to be a common problem with Ford EDGE. Waiting to see what is covered under extended warranty. 66000 miles.”

NHTSA complaint #11414563, filed 2021-04, 66,000 miles

“While traveling on highway, vehicle began to make humming sound from rear. After about 1 minute of these sounds, the orange wrench light appeared and the vehicle began to sputter. Vehicle continued sputtering at each stop light, running rough until I was able to reach my destination and turn vehicle off.”

NHTSA complaint #11323089, filed 2020-05, 59,500 miles

“There are times when I press on the gas and the engine bogs down and the engine starts running very ruff. I can only do about 2 miles per hour, which is very dangerous as I am in traffic on city streets and on the highway, when this happens. The only thing that fixes it is to pull over, shut the car down, and then restart. This has happened 5 times since I bought the car in december of 2019 and it is only january of 2021.”

NHTSA complaint #11388457, filed 2021-01, 58,350 miles

“Throttle body failure - while driving on the freeway, there was a clunk sound and a wrench symbol appeared on our display and the car lost all power. We could not accelerate and had to carefully coast to nearest offramp. We tried to restart car and it did turnover but the same problem repeated after about one minute. It appears this is a common problem with a variety of Ford models. No recall on our vehicle. Extremely dangerous issue.”

NHTSA complaint #11024287, filed 2017-09, 7,300 miles

“Driving down the road and the vehicle suddenly went to idle. Had to coast to a stop on the side of the road. The car was still idling but when I tried to give it gas, nothing happened. I shut the car off, restarted and it worked fine. Approx. 10 miles later, did the same thing. Car only has 9,200 miles. I drive the interstate daily and this is going to be very dangerous if it happens there. Will be at the dealer at 9:00am sharp tomorrow.”
