“Vehicle has major ABS problems witch also affects the traction control. Vehicle randomly does not respond to braking at various speeds. Ford needs to stand behind their product and fix this problem before someone gets hurt as a result. I bought this SUV for my wife and kids it only has 100k. It shouldn't be having these issues.”

NHTSA complaint #11202608, filed 2019-04, 100,900 miles

“Noticed a week ago there was a hissing noise while pushing in on the brakes and the brakes were extremely hard to push in on to get the vehicle to come to a stop. Took to our local shop and was informed we needed a new brake booster and this vehicle was not safe to drive and costed us $860.42 to get repaired.”

NHTSA complaint #11339879, filed 2020-07, 109,690 miles

“The brake booster is failing, causing me to nearly read end people. The peddle is very hard and needs to be pushed to the floor in order to stop. Ford has a customer satisfaction warranty on this part however, Ford has declined service, stating that the warranty has expired. I want this part replaced at no charge to me.”

NHTSA complaint #11219963, filed 2019-06, 135,000 miles

“Was driving on a city street and started hearing a hissing noise, made that noise for a couple of days. Now it's like my brake pedal locks up, it slows it down but I have to push it again really hard to stop the car.. I read some trouble shooting on the brake system of the EDGE and from what I read it's possibly the booster. I know it's very dangerous.”

NHTSA complaint #11010373, filed 2017-07, 121,000 miles

“I had this car in a Ford garage back in januarty I had to spend over $2000.00 because one of the engine coils burned up and damaged the computer for the engine. I was told the others should be replaced also, but could not fix it because of no money. And also the brakes, rotors calipers on front of this car are a mess. I had to replace every bit of it also. This cars sucks I hate it but /”
