“Door ajar light continually went on and off while in motion whether on a highway or city street. Noticed it also went on during left turns. Door locks on all doors would click on and off at stops. I wasn't sure that doors were locked with my children in the car. Internal lights would also go on an off. Common issue on the internet with Ford edges. It's all over and for years. I have young children and had to get the issue fixed at a cost of $542.83. I believe Ford needs to pay for this safety issue. The part number to replace was the latch part number 8t4z 78264a27 a. …”
NHTSA complaint #11376304, filed 2020-11, 115,268 miles“March19, 2017 while driving 20 MPH from our neighborhood to church with my wife, there was a loud clunking from front passenger side. We turned onto the main road and as speed increased to 55 MPH, the windshield cracked and I noticed the hood of car was raised up about an inch above the fender. We immediately turned around and drove slowly back to the house. The attached photos show what had happened. There is considerable damage to the sheet metal body components, windshield, plastic parts. There are many similar examples of the strut tower spot weld failure reported on the internet. …”
NHTSA complaint #10967184, filed 2017-03, 101,000 miles“I was driving my 2 week old 2010 EDGE limited, on a highway in stop and go traffic, when I was hit from behind by a tractor trailer loaded with asphalt shingles. I was pushed into a car in front of me and both cars were totaled. During the crash, the components of the dash were ejected into the backseat. . If someone had been seated in the back seat, I'm sure they would have been severely injured by the debris.the dashboard stayed in place. Also, the drivers seat brokefrom it's anchors. The air bag did not deploy.”
NHTSA complaint #10362582, filed 2010-10, 4,000 miles“Driver's side door ajar warning stays on majority of the time. You have to open and close the door at least 3 times everything you get in the car before it will turn off. Understand a lot of edges have this issue and it should be recalled. Instead of having to pay out of pocket.”
NHTSA complaint #10606348, filed 2014-06, 45,000 miles“2010 Ford EDGE, passenger side inside door handle, chrome plastic paint comes off..when it comes off it leaves a sharp EDGE, thus resulting in three hand cuts in my family before discovering what caused it...one resulting in an 83 year old with finger wound. Took Ford EDGE to dealer, who says this is happening to edges and fusions, and new inside door handle was ordered, in mean time duct tape covers the handle in a new care with less that 4,000 miles on it.”
