“I was on the freeway with the panoramic vista screen half open, when the plastic clips broke(parts that move the screen open/close) the vista screen slammed back as far as it could go, for a second I thought the entire glass had broken and I was in for a world of hurt! This could cause an extreme safety risk if the glass had shattered.”

NHTSA complaint #11057974, filed 2018-01, 48,000 miles

“Door ajar warning comes on when door is closed. Doors won't lock, lights stay on. The door doesn't seem to be open, but I am concerned that it might open while driving. The doors not locking and lights remaining on are safety concerns when I am driving. This started happening a few months ago, and continues to occur every few days.”

NHTSA complaint #10917278, filed 2016-10, 85,000 miles

“When driver's door is closed, the door ajar light is still on the display. You can slam the door hard several times before it will go off. Many times, it reappears after you begin driving. This causes a safety hazard to my family because my wife is not able to lock the doors when inside the car. (the door ajar will not allow it to be locked).”

NHTSA complaint #10713989, filed 2015-05, 31,000 miles

“The driver door latch sensor went bad. It keeps saying that the door is ajar. When it is not. This is a real safety issue. For example, what if I don't close my door completely, I would expect this warning to come on. But right now the door warning is always on. So I really don't know if my door is properly closed or not. So far I am slamming my door shut to ensure that it is properly closed.”

NHTSA complaint #10682750, filed 2015-02, 39,500 miles

“Typical door is ajar error message. Upon closing the door, the error message door is ajar pops up and the dome lights stay on with the chimes ringing. I also have a problem with the error message shift to park . I believe these could be related. Ford dealer replaced the switch assembly but this didn't solve my problem. This needs recalled as thousands are experiencing this saftey issue with this vehicle!”
