“My driver side rear door sensor keeps saying it is open when it isn't. This causes me to drive with the light on until it eventually turns off. When I park and lock the car the dome light stays on for a long while. And the alarm even beeps twice telling me the light is on/it thinks the door is still open when it's not.”

NHTSA complaint #11354912, filed 2020-09, 80,000 miles

“The rear left door door ajar indicator would show that the door was open, even when slammed shut. At first I had to slam the door harder, but after a while even that didn't work. When that didn't work, it became an issue because my interior lights wouldn't go off after leaving the car. I had to break the part to get my lights to go off so I didn't drain my battery overnight.”

NHTSA complaint #11181700, filed 2019-02, 89,000 miles

“The driver's side door ajar is constantly on. I have opened and shut the door multiple times and even tried to do what some youtube videos have shown. Dome light sometimes stays on after I park, sometimes goes off. I will have a dead battery and probably additional costs unless I want to pay $400+ to Ford to fix this known issue.”

NHTSA complaint #11098368, filed 2018-05, 98,000 miles

“My car is a 2012 Ford EDGE and has had problem with the door latches and the lights, and the shifter I have had this car in the shop for this problem and it doing again. The car when started it say to put in park and shift to drive and doors does not lock and all the lights stay on in the car”

NHTSA complaint #11319240, filed 2020-03, 76,000 miles

“For the 2nd time in 2 years my door ajar light comes on when the car is started and in motion which leaves the overhead lights on and the doors unlocked while driving. The overhead light on at night and the doors unlocked while driving is dangerous and I should not have to pay for an issue that is safety related for a second time in 2 years.”
