“From june 2018 to june 2019 I have invested over $4000 in primarily the braking sytem of my car. I continue to have issues when after filling my gas tank the car hesitates in starting. I have replaced everything that has to do with the breaking system from brake pads to hcu system to the ABS system. Even the new parts have had to be replaced because they were faulty.”

NHTSA complaint #11228282, filed 2019-06, 82,351 miles

“While attempting to come to a stop or slow at highway speed or in a parking lot the brake pedal looses pressure and goes all the way to the floor without effectively slowing or stopping the vehicle. I have been very close to smashing other drivers due to the brake malfunction. I took my car to the local mechanic and he said he has a Ford car that had the same problem and it was recalled.”

NHTSA complaint #11355723, filed 2020-09, 145,000 miles

“On two occasions in the last four months my wife was driving on the highway the EDGE and when she push down on the brake pedal it went all the way to the floor board. The second time this happened she pumped the brakes but still did not have brakes. My mechanic is guessing it's the brake master cylinder so we are having it replaced.”

NHTSA complaint #11102604, filed 2018-06, 55,000 miles

“Brakes quit working while executing a normal stop. Pedal to the floor. Replaced all brake components and after a month of repairs mechanic said car is not fixable that I need to junk the car. Upon further research I discovered that many other vehicles with the same make and model have the exact same problems”

NHTSA complaint #11230456, filed 2019-07, 127,000 miles

“While driving on highway when attempting to brake to slow down vehicle, brake pedal felt hard/stiff. Avoided a multi-car accident possibly causing my death along with my wife in car. Took to mechanic and diagnosed with faulty brake booster. Vehicle only has 90,600 miles on 2012.”
