“While my wife is driving the car with the kid and suddenly find the steering became hard to turn. Even for me I had to rock the steering wheel back and forth just to turn the corner. After I search the website and I found Ford had the same issue with the recall for 2011~2013 model. My car is 2014 model and I think they did not solve the problem and should cover this defect also.”

NHTSA complaint #11386878, filed 2021-01, 75,000 miles

“Power steering failed. My 2014 Ford Explorer has 85,245 miles. Today I stopped for gas. When I re-started I got an error message power steering assist failed . Steering was extremely hard. I am glad this did not happen yesterday when I was 250 miles from home pulling my small camper!! This is recalled on the 2013 & 2015 models, why not the 2014??”

“I recently was driving down the highway at 70mph when my car's steering became out of control. It was like I was fishtailing on ice and the steering was loose. Thankfully I was able to brake and get into a grassy area off the side of the highway. I was able to get off the exit and drive at a slower speed. Thankfully I did not crash but was extremely close to crashing.”

Since the car is making a whining nose. I see multiple recalls for this make and model for power steering issues but my VIN number isnt listed.”
