“When suddenly accelerating to speed over 65 MPH , exhaust gas/fumes enter the main cabin, and linger for sometime, until I open all windows to dissipate the fumes. This issue always occur during sudden acceleration. I have taken vehicle to dealer several times and they installed external seals but issue continues, even after the fixes.”

NHTSA complaint #11219496, filed 2019-06, 96,000 miles

“The smell of exhaust was overwhelming and finally a fix was generated. The fix is worse than the original problem. Now there is an extremely strong smell of gasoline that floods the cabin of the vehicle. This occurs when in idle, when driving, when other cars are around or if I am the only car in the lot. Often I notice when the heating system is on.”

NHTSA complaint #11081417, filed 2018-03, 65,000 miles

“A heavy propane smell happens in my car when I have the max AC and rec air on.. I just got thie car 5 months ago.. I called Ford they said sorry this is not a recall .. And we have never heard of this issue even when I researched and it is a issue.. They tole me it would cost me to have them look at it and cost for any parts needed..”

NHTSA complaint #11005865, filed 2017-07, 61,000 miles

“Sometimes when driving the vehicle, I smell exhaust fumes in the vehicle cabin. This occurs randomly. I notice it more frequently when accelerating between speeds upwards of, and above 45/50 MPH and mostly on the highways. The vehicle is serviced regularly as per Ford's recommendation by the same dealer where it was bought in november 2013 with 0 miles on it. This has been ongoing since the vehicle was bought.”

NHTSA complaint #10954148, filed 2017-02, 100 miles

“Exhaust smell in cabin. We experience a strong odor in the cabin when accelerating, typically while getting onto a highway or passing. It makes no difference if the windows are open or the AC is on. We don't drive this vehicle very much to date we have 28000 miles on it.”
