“Front brakes failed twice within the first 15,000 miles . Caliper's froze up causing pads to stick, causing them to drag and over heat, causing rotors to crack and split. Problem was first fixed feb.,2010 at approx. 7500miles. Caliper rusts or corrodes when exposed to any moisture and freezes up/sticks. Ford says I don't use truck enough but the same problem happen to my last f250 after 100,000 miles; please note that the brakes would not release after applying causing premature ware from dragging also no warning lights came on.”
NHTSA complaint #10334718, filed 2010-06, 16,000 miles“The contact owns a 2007 Ford f-250 super duty. While driving at any speed, the vehicle shook violently and caused the door to open. It became difficult to steer and the entire vehicle oscillated. In addition, the ABS warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The failures began weeks after the vehicle was purchased in 2007. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 400.”
