“While driving on the interstate i71/i75 my rear brakes locked up. My brake pads were cutting into my rotors. After checking the brakes when I got back home I found that the rear brake calipers were frozen on both sides (rear left rear right). The rotors, calipers and brake pads had to be replaced. Now remember the car has only 21,900 miles on it.”
NHTSA complaint #10463535, filed 2012-06, 21,900 miles“I was driving on the highway when suddenly the vehicle started surging and was losing power last wednesday 11/13/19. Another time, was with my whole family, the AC, cruise control, and car stereo was on when suddenly the vehicle lost power all of a sudden. I got scared because I did not want to get into an accident particularly on the highway. Ford motors please, do something about my vehicle. Also, the vehicle does not stop when it should every time I apply the breaks. …”
NHTSA complaint #11280280, filed 2019-11, 65 miles“Throttle body failed twice. Had repaired because vehicle lunged and almost hit a lady at kroger grocery store. Foot was firm on brake. Very dangerous in my opinion . I'm a Ford motor company employee and I've heard this problem from friends at work .also engine races sometimes.”
NHTSA complaint #10487812, filed 2012-12, 60,000 miles“Cv boot failed, motor mounts failed, battery dead, rotten egg smell from exhaust, now putting vehicle into gears with foot on brake vehicle surges like my foot is on the gas pedal but it's on the brake, and does not go over 25 when pulling forward almost got into several accidents from vehicle acceleration, this has been happening everyday now I got my vehicle in 2009 and only had it for a year.”
NHTSA complaint #10351848, filed 2010-08, 42,460 miles“Rear brakes wear out unusually fast, in the first 18,000 miles. Sound Ford will not do anything about this issue either. This is the 2nd time I have had to replace my rear brakes and rotors that were completely ruined in 38,000 miles of usual driving. I have also experienced unusual tire wear. The insides of the tires go bald with in the first 35,000 miles even with routine servicing and rotations.”
