“My mom's 2006 Ford Freestyle, surges forward when using the air conditioner or defroster. There has been many times it has done this almost rear ending the vehicle in front of hher.this has been going on since beet and my deceased father have own it.(2010?) her instrument panel goes bonkers now, and sometimes the car won't start and the panic alarm goes off when we get out of the car.”
NHTSA complaint #11141290, filed 2018-10, 153,000 miles“I unlocked my car to load the back. I noticed smoke coming from the passenger side mirror. There was a small fire which I put out with water. Now my radio and power windows will not work and the fuse blows when we tried to replace (2x). I have not yet taken it in since it is the weekend, but I am not happy about a random fire that may have burned the entire vehicle if not noticed.”
NHTSA complaint #10586419, filed 2014-05, 111,000 miles“This car has many problems. I wouldn't buy this car again. I have invested too much money for repairs. The air bag sensor keeps coming on. The car has no speed after I had the transmission replaced. The lights on dash are off and on.”
NHTSA complaint #10967123, filed 2017-03, 152,200 miles“The driver side passenger door seal is faulty, letting water get into the door causing it to freeze and rust. The electrical for the driver heated seat keeps malfunctioning causing it to keep breaking. The levers that flip the second and third row seating have become faulty and will no longer work. Lastly, the all-wheel drive component on my vehicle stopped working while I was driving. It was during the winter and the roads were icy so it caused me to have less traction and fish tail.”
NHTSA complaint #10947119, filed 2017-01, 60,000 miles“Trying to park my car in a crowded parking lot, the car suddenly surged forward and then stalled. I tried to restart the car and it would not start. I waited a minute, turned off the radio, A/C, etc and then was able to restart. I have had a similar problem on two other occasions since.”
