“Vehicle lunges and has poor gas mileage. We have almost been in several accidents and going thru brakes more than normal due to this issue. Ford issued a complimentary customer satisfaction service to clean the throttle body and I am continuing to have this problem. Ford was notified and we were told that its not a safety issue and any repair is my responsibility.”
NHTSA complaint #10536716, filed 2013-08, 120,000 miles“My 2006 Ford Freestyle lurches forward at 0 to 5 MPH. The lurching occurs even if I do not press the pedal. It is dangerous at intersections and when trying to park. A mechanic replaced the EGR valve and it is still lurching forward..from what I have found on the internet it seems that many others are having the same problem with this vehicle.”
NHTSA complaint #10475516, filed 2012-09, 119,205 miles“The car would lunge forward when I would take my foot off the brake before I could get my foot to the gas pedal. Then started to lunge at low speeds in traffic...now it will lose power to the transmission and I will have to pull over, turn the car off, then start it again. This has happened in the city and on the highway when traveling 65mph in traffic.”
NHTSA complaint #10479807, filed 2012-10, 94,000 miles“Thursday, november 29,2013 I noticed a noise in my engine compartment. I took it to my mechanic he said it was the transmission and to call the dealer. We called the dealer they said to get a transmission it would be a remanufactured one using our old one for the core and would be about 48 hundred dollars however they can't get one. I now have a car I can't drive or sell.”
NHTSA complaint #10554770, filed 2013-12, 123,478 miles“I was driving on the highway when suddenly the vehicle started surging and was losing power last wednesday 11/13/19. Another time, was with my whole family, the AC, cruise control, and car stereo was on when suddenly the vehicle lost power all of a sudden. I got scared because I did not want to get into an accident particularly on the highway. Ford motors please, do something about my vehicle. Also, the vehicle does not stop when it should every time I apply the breaks. …”
