“I am having problems with several things. Air bag was recalled so I took it to the Ford dealership and they replaced it but the light won't go off, after getting my car back from the dealership the radio/speaker and seat warmers went out, soon after the heat/AC went out, the rear driver side tail light goes out very often, plate lights don't work, visor lights don't work. They're are too many issues that started at the same time, so I think it must be electrical. Thanks”

NHTSA complaint #11182210, filed 2019-02, 92,000 miles

“I turned on my driver side seat heater and it go extremely hot in one spot. I had to turn it off and tried it at a later date and same thing. In fact, it was as though it wouldn't turn off since it felt as hot as when it was on. It did eventually cool down. Wow! I now have a hole burnt in my leather seat!!! This is obviously a big problem on two counts ....one could get burnt plus the car could catch on fire.”

NHTSA complaint #10660276, filed 2014-11, 68,025 miles

“The inside door handle has a cable attachment to it, when you pull the door handle it moves the lock and the door opens. Today, mine broke. The reason for contacting you, I called the Ford location to check for repair, the parts man told me that this door handle problem was the no 1 problem for Ford motor cars. Seems to me that they would address the problem, would you think that $150.00 cost for replacement might be the reason? Sounds like add on sales, does not sound right, but the numbers are millions.”

NHTSA complaint #10746938, filed 2015-08, 104,239 miles

“My drivers side heated seat began to get warmer than usual when I would use it. It would become so warm that I would have to turn it off because it was getting too hot and I was afraid that it would burn me. After a few weeks of this happening the seat heater stopped functioning properly all together. I would press the heated seat button and it would illuminate for a few seconds (maybe 2-3) and then shut off on its own, as if something were tripping a fault. The seat does not get warm at all before the switch turns off automatically. …”

NHTSA complaint #10638545, filed 2014-09, 63,000 miles

“My drivers seat features all power controls. The incident is that my drivers seat lost control of the up and down motion. When you press the button on the seat to move the lower section of the seat up or down, it makes noise (like the motor is operating) but the seat does nothing. After careful inspection, I found out that Ford uses plastic gears under the seat and one of the plastic gears has a broken tooth. This causes the seat motor to run but not actually turn the gear to move the seat in either direction. …”
