“The contact owns a 2024 Ford Maverick. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V684000 (Back Over Prevention) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. One day in an attempt to exit a gas station, the contact realized he had pulled out too far into oncoming traffic. As the contact was reversing the vehicle, the backup camera froze which resulted in the contact hitting a vehicle that had quickly pulled up behind him. No injuries were reported and a police report was not filed. …”

The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V684000 (BACK OVER PREVENTION), and the vehicle was taken to a local dealer and the recall repair was performed; however, several weeks later the failure occurred while the contact was reversing, and the rearview camera display remained frozen. There was no warning light illuminated. The local dealer was not contacted, and the vehicle was not diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 8,000.”
