“The mach e has a front trunk. I have seen several posts about the front latch failing which includes the emergency release should a child or smaller adult get stuck in the frunk. My mach e did this to me today. As a result I was also forced to drive with the frunk half open to get my car back home until I can get it serviced.”

NHTSA complaint #11498688, filed 2022-12

“While driving my front passenger door opened. It has now done it several times while driving the vehicle. Also, I will lock my car and walk into the house and work and my door will open setting my alarm off.”

NHTSA complaint #11765348, filed 2026-09

“I bought this car in August of 2024. It started having issues with the door lock in September and in December I decided to sell it back to the dealer but was in a car accident on the way to the dealership. Unfortunately the door jamming issue caused repair problems and the auto repair shop could not fix the door issues. I lost the car to the repair shop in a lien sale due to the cost of repair which was over $20,000. In August of 2025 Ford issued a recall which allowed the auto repair shop was able to fix the car and sell it to a dealership. …”

NHTSA complaint #11701857, filed 2025-11

“The vehicle started saying a door was ajar without indicating which one. Sometimes we would get an intruder alert while the car was plugged in at work but nothing was open or unlocked. Occasionally the passenger door would open on its own after turning off the car. Now we get a door fault alert after starting the car. We have contacted a local dealer as well as our purchasing dealer but both indicate. Month before they can see the car due to lack of qualified techs. Today, 4/26/2022 the passenger door opened on its own while at highway speed. Only the driver was in the car. …”

NHTSA complaint #11462353, filed 2022-04

“The panoramic roof glass panel is not properly bonded/sealed to the vehicle body structure, allowing water to leak into the cabin on the driver’s side. The vehicle and the failed component (roof glass/moulding) remain available for inspection upon request. …”
