“The truck check engine lights came on, and I took it to a dealer. I was told the ECM was faulty, they replaced it, but it didn't fix the issue. I was then told the ONSTAR telematics unit was faulty. The truck has been down for 45 days, with no ETA on parts(several forms say 4-6 months). There is no guarantee that this will fix the CEL. The truck is inoperable at this time.”

NHTSA complaint #11649194, filed 2025-03

“This vehicle has water intrusion for the power steering harness. The system went out one day. Vehicle has 40K miles on it. i bought it less than a year ago as a used vehicle with 30K miles on it. Less than a year later i end up with a $6,500 bill for it.”

NHTSA complaint #11763381, filed 2026-09

“I brought this truck brand new. Had issues the first couple days of purchase that was a quick fix, but as time went on things got worse. Truck always stalling out, engine has been replaced once already due to a recall and months after the first replacement, it stalled out on me again in the middle of the freeway and I just got a call from the dealership that it needs another new engine! How is this right! How is this safe! I could've lost my life on every occasion it has happened.”

NHTSA complaint #11732074, filed 2026-04

“600 miles and 3 months out of warranty the dash completely disappeared. Dealership says the costs is in excess of $1600 to fix the issue. I have researched this and it is a common problem with these trucks and it needs an instrument cluster. Given the fact that GMC controls the panels to these trucks I feel certain that this is actually caused by them and should be fixed under a recall. We have owned the truck 6 months. We are not able to see the speed limit, gas limits or anything on the dash any longer.”

NHTSA complaint #11768017, filed 2026-09

“Truck will down shift and transmission will slam, super hard. feels like i hit something. almost causing accident. dealership refuses to service my truck or even take a look at the transmission because its not broken yet in their words it needs to fail before they can service it or even look at it, because they wont get paid. I have expressed my concerns about this safety issue and at this point they are being negligent. My truck is a 2023 gmc sierra 1500 with 3.0 duramax . still under warranty with only 35k miles.”
