“Bought a crv Honda last month. Right after purchase, began getting large electrical shocks while opening or shutting doors--in a variety of shoes and clothing. Contacted dealership and corporate office--all they could say was to spray the seats and floors with fabric softener. Did so...lasted 7-10 days--not happy with vehicle for this reason--afraid to gas the vehicle due to the possibility of catching on fire.”

NHTSA complaint #10280650, filed 2009-08, 200 miles

“One week ago purchaed a 2009 Honda crv with 26k miles. Have had 2 previous crv's (1999 & 2002) we purchased the 2009, after a 15 minute test drive, everything seemd fine. After driving for the past week, noticed horrible lower back pain, legs & feet having pins & needles numb feeling & seat uncomfortable regardless of the manual seat adjustment position it is in, lumbar support on lower back of seat puts too much pressure on lower back, no way to adjust it. Never had back problems like this before. Seats are very firm, even adding additional cushion or blanket does not help. …”

NHTSA complaint #10448865, filed 2012-02, 26,402 miles

“My front passenger seat weight sensor is faulty and shows as OFF when a large passenger is in the seat. An independent service center has scanned and confirmed the faulty sensor. I see CRV recalls for both the sensors and airbags, but my VIN does not return a result.”

NHTSA complaint #11704236, filed 2025-12

“Driver side seat warmer not working, back warmer works. Loud buzzing sound on passenger side every time I put the car in drive and when I lock my car.”

NHTSA complaint #11520639, filed 2023-05

“The contact owns a 2009 Honda crv. The contact was driving approximately 5 MPH when the front passenger seat began to squeak. There were failures with the seat and seat back. The vehicle had been repaired on two different occasions for the seat back. The technician stated the failure was contributed to the occupant weight positioned in the seat. The failure mileage was 200. The current mileage was 21,082.”
