“My Jeep turned off while driving on the highway. I had to put the Jeep in neutral and restart it. This has happened about 9 or 10 times. It happens randomly and infrequently. Not sure what the problem is but it is definitely scary when it happens. Also the key fell out of the ignition once, the car remained running.”

NHTSA complaint #10651486, filed 2014-10, 100,000 miles

“The engine stalls intermittently from time to time shutting the car down. It usually happens while coming to a stop or at rest. In september of 2012 it happened on the highway going at 65 MPH and I had to bring the vehicle to the curb to restart it. It always restarts easily. I have taken it to the dealer and they can not figure it out.”

NHTSA complaint #10490442, filed 2012-12, 35,000 miles

“While traveling on the highway at about 70 MPH, the engine stalled and shut down. I had to pull over to the side and restart the car to continue. I've had similar issues with this vehicle dozens of times and I fear that one day it will cause an accident when it shuts down on me. The dealer seems to not know what to do about it and I'm scared that I'll get hurt driving the car.”

NHTSA complaint #10490525, filed 2012-12, 37,000 miles

“As I was about to exit the freeway onto exit ramp I heard a click and the vehicle just turned off. This is not the first time this has happened. Four times prior but at much lower speeds....parking lot speeds. I also seem to be having a problem at times when I start the vehicle. It just turns off. I have taken the vehicle in to the dealer twice and they have run all the diagnostics but have been unable to identify a problem.”

NHTSA complaint #10654568, filed 2014-11, 79,872 miles

“While driving onto a major roadway with my wife and kids in the vehicle the car just stalled out and I lost all control of the vehicle. Luckily there was no other vehicles on the road. I turned the key to off and started the car right up again. I researched this online to find this is a widespread issue and I cannot believe the NHTSA has done nothing after the entire GM scandal with cars shutting off causing several fatalities.”
