“The passenger air bag warning light deployed or illuminated for an unknown reason and has remained on through the evening. When I arrived home and restarted the vehicle the light came on when I started the car and then turned off. I have never noticed this intermittent error light prior to this date.”

NHTSA complaint #10667828, filed 2014-12, 45,458 miles

“I and my son were traveling approximately 40 miles per hour when a car pulled in front of us. My son applied the brakes but hit the car in the driver's door. Fairly significant damage to our Jeep - and non of the air bags deployed. Have pictures I'd like to send.”

NHTSA complaint #10594328, filed 2014-05, 60,000 miles

“I was driving on the interstate and several warning lights appeared on the dash board. I took the vehicle to the local repair shop and found out that the airbag clockspring was no longer operational. In addition, the anti lock brake feature, cruise control, and airbag are no longer operational. I have been looking for this part for quite some time and it is not available in most cases. The original cost for the clockspring ranged from $80 to $130 depending on the dealer. …”

NHTSA complaint #10908074, filed 2016-09, 101,000 miles

“The warning light about air bags is lit-indicating that the air bags are not working. The dealership tried many remedies including a new passenger seat, and another used part. These repairs did not fix the problem because the parts needed to be VIN specific. I was finally told that the only remedy is a sprag and pad restraint, and that there are only five available in the united states. After waiting for the part to come in, the dealer informed me that the part was no longer available. The part is not manufactured any longer. I called chrysler customer care. …”

NHTSA complaint #10881449, filed 2016-06, 93,000 miles

“Passenger side window in front made a loud noise and went down when rolling down power window. Then one by one each of my trucks window did the same thing. None of the windows will roll back up. When I called the dealership she was aware told me this happens to all of those types of vehicles and when I replace them more than likely it will happen again. To fix the regulators in all four windows will be 350-500 per window to repair. The regulator from what I understood is a small plastic piece in these specific trucks that break all the time.”
