“Every time I plug my iphone into the lighting cable that is plugged into the usb type c input the uconnect system will power off and reset itself. This will continuously happen every 5 minutes 3-4 times before it stops. This happens when the engine is on and occurs whether the car is moving or not.”
NHTSA complaint #11389518, filed 2021-01, 14,000 miles“While driving normally my dash lights and info display start running a sequence that goes through a multitude of warnings and service checks on the vehicles systems, I lose power steering for a bit then lights go out, but check engine light and ess stay on. When remote starting my Jeep the same thing kind of happens only the warning lights do not go out quickly and I cannot shift out of park to drive the vehicle, after some time usually a 1/2 to a full day of waiting the lights go out execept for the check engine light and ess. …”
NHTSA complaint #11408572, filed 2021-04, 11,315 miles“While driving down a winding mountain road, the electronic throttle warning came on as did vsc, ABS, check engine and electrical. The steering became very stiff and the throttle uncontrollable. The vehicle was essentially out of control. We took it to a dealer four times, each time it wasn't fixed. The vehicle is currently at a dealer and FCA is trying to figure out what is wrong with it. I heard the mechanic say they had others that were doing this. Fca refuses to describe what the problem might be to me because it's proprietary. …”
NHTSA complaint #11348893, filed 2020-08, 12,000 miles“During highway driving my Jeep Wrangler drifts slowly back and forth. I have noticed this since the first time driving on interstate highway. I have complained at dealer in paducah, kentucky and was told it's normal. I also have had electrical issues where the air conditioner quit working. After 3 attempts to fix, the dealer service man found a short in a junction under the hood. After that was prepared, the radio, info. Screen went blank. It came back on. A seat back release had to be replaced too. All of this and less than 4000 miles on odometer.”
NHTSA complaint #11297076, filed 2020-01, 100 miles“As I drove off the lot I noticed the instrument panel had a distortion on it. Dealership was unable to fix (after a software upgrade). More concerning is the car shakes violently when hitting a bump in the road. I took it in 3 times without resolution. Always on the highway, at first at high speeds, now even going below the speed limit. Sometimes it resolves on it's own, but lately I have to slow down or stop to make the shaking stop. (which is very dangerous when driving on a 65mph highway), the steering wheel shakes left to right and is very loose during these times. …”
