“I was driving down the road and the horn started blowing and would not stop, the windshield wipers started wiping at high speed, windshield washer fluid was squirting out, and would not stop. I turned the vehicle off and issues kept happening. The gauges and speedometer stopped working at this time. Luckily I was pulling in my driveway.”

NHTSA complaint #10943717, filed 2017-01, 114,000 miles

“My Jeep lost all power and brakes while driving. The ABS and brake lines are charred throughout the entire vehicle from overheating and the main wiring harness was damaged as well. The vehicle is currently and national dodge jacksonville nc awaiting repairs. Mike in the service department says the ABS overheated but no fire but another mechanic I had look at it said there was a small fire.”

NHTSA complaint #10767572, filed 2015-09, 90,000 miles

“While driving approaching a stop light in town the wipers came on, windshield fluid started spraying, horn was blaring and engine stalled. The 2nd time I was on a highway going 55 MPH and the same exact thing happened I coasted in a subdivision started the engine back up and this time when I got home I could remove key and the engine would continue to run. I think the problem is the tipm because while the 'christine effect' is going on I can tap the tipm cover and it stops.”

NHTSA complaint #11315373, filed 2020-03, 89,000 miles

“I have had 4 electrical/engine events with the most recent occurring in july, 2014 after picking up my kids from camp. As I slowed down for a light, all dash board lights came on, the radio went dead and the engine cut out. Luckily I was coming to a stop at the light, and as I was looking at the dash trying to figure out what happened, the Jeep then turned back on.please help.”

NHTSA complaint #10626475, filed 2014-08, 71,000 miles

“Vehicle would stall and put itself into limp mode upon driving at highway speeds. Happened numerous times over the course of a 3 week period. Obd-ii threw codes pertaining to failing sensors in EGR, camshaft and acceleration pedal. Read many online forums about other with Jeep and chrysler vehicles having faulty tipm units. My car will now not run without sounding like it's being starved of fuel. I fear the bad tipm may have also caused the fuel pump to go bad. …”
