“I was driving down the road and the horn started blowing and would not stop, the windshield wipers started wiping at high speed, windshield washer fluid was squirting out, and would not stop. I turned the vehicle off and issues kept happening. The gauges and speedometer stopped working at this time. Luckily I was pulling in my driveway.”

NHTSA complaint #10943717, filed 2017-01, 114,000 miles

“My car started acting up. Neighbors would come regularly ring my house bell to let me know that the Jeep's headlights were on. The Jeep was parked in the street. The problem: it wouldn't stay locked. It would automatically lock and unlock whenever. We only have street parking at home and it was very stressful to leave the car open at night in the street or even when going places. Also the windshield wipers started getting stuck in the middle of the windshield or sometimes stopped working completely. This was very dangerous especially when it happened at high speeds on the highway! …”

NHTSA complaint #11079141, filed 2018-03, 75,000 miles

“Driving down the road when suddenly the horn started honking, wipers started on their own as well as wiper fluid squirting , radio came on and lights turning on and off. Pulled over and even after the car was turned off and key removed ignition the car remained running with all electrical equipment running off and on. It seems that many other people have had this problem with their Jeep/ chrysler vehicles. I replaced the battery cables and started the car again, it was fine for about 30 seconds then it all happened again until I removed the battery cables. …”

NHTSA complaint #10713076, filed 2015-04, 54,000 miles

“Sunday april 4th, 2009 the temperature was a high of 73 and on april 5th, 2009 the high was 49. I own a 2007 Jeep Wrangler sahara with approx. 27k miles. After out running errands and using the defrost,I noticed a small crack at the bottom of the passengers side of the wind shield. When I noticed the crack it was approx. 3 long, and ran from bottom to top, since then it has begun to curve towards the drivers side by about 1 . I have taken the vehicle to two dealers and both have dismissed it has a rock chip. …”

NHTSA complaint #10264358, filed 2009-04, 27,500 miles

“Windshield wipers and lights failed to work during icy rain/snowy conditions. Road visibility was significantly impaired and I couldn't see my instrument panel. I had no option but to continue home at very slow speeds to avoid an accident. After approximately 20 minutes of driving without wipers, the wipers suddenly turned on by themselves, moving very fast. I could not adjust the wiper speed at all. When I arrived home and turned the Jeep off and removed the keys, wipers still would not turn off. I had to disconnect the battery to stop the wipers. Dealer claims it was a faulty wiper motor. …”
