“As I was driving on I 294 I heard a loud bang sort of like a gun shot and glass from the sunroof came raining down on me. I pulled over and looked around in the car to see if something landed on it however there was nothing but glass.”
NHTSA complaint #11003215, filed 2017-07, 94,800 miles“Driver's side back door locking mechanism will become stuck, and door will remain locked despite attempting to unlock it with the key fob or manually. First noticed when the door would not unlock after being put in park after driving approximately 10 miles. Other doors unaffected, and rear passengers were able to exit vehicle via passenger side back door. Only solution appears to be removing the interior door paneling to access the locking mechanism. This will resolve the problem for a period of time (varies) but will happen again.”
NHTSA complaint #11353577, filed 2020-09, 128,000 miles“The contact owns a 2013 Chevrolet Impala. When the passenger door opened, an abnormal noise emitted from the dashboard. The failure recurred several times. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 50,000.”
