“I had numerous problems with this vehicle (almost through my third set of tires, oxygen sensor going at 46,000 miles, rust beginning at 38,000 miles {car was two years old}, and the battery going prematurely). Last week, I attempted to put on my rear defogger. The light came on, but my rear windshield was still fogged up. The defroster also does not blow cold air if the car is in park.”

NHTSA complaint #10424655, filed 2011-09, 74,769 miles

“After stopping, I push on the accelerator, the engine revs but the transmission does not engage, after two seconds the car will slam into gear and violently lurch forward. Powerful enough to strain my neck. Very dangerous.”

NHTSA complaint #10566644, filed 2014-03, 89,000 miles

“During a auto rearend accident I was injured, I feel the built in lumbar support failed to protect me form the lumbar displacement and other injury I received to my shoulder and cervical spine. During the auto accident the inner workings of the seat broke on my back upon impact, this was never fixed during the collision repair nor the bumper spring it also broke in the rear end crash, the collision repair company lied about the repairs made and the damage received to the car.”

NHTSA complaint #10469182, filed 2012-08, 45,979 miles

“Modern vehicle design has increased occupant safety in event of an accident. The other side of this coin is a decreased ability to avoid accidents. Blind spots caused by huge windshield posts and rear view mirrors (inside and out), headrests poking up and a seat belts that hold you in position to look straight ahead....all these contributed to our car hitting a guy-wire for a power pole. I took the car back to the scene and the guy-wire and windshield post are exactly the same angle, the guy-wire not being in the driver's field of vision. …”

NHTSA complaint #10542636, filed 2013-09, 90,000 miles

“I did not realize such a website existed. I have purchased many new vehicles and have always been happy until I purchased my 2007 Impala brand new with 27 miles. I started looking on the internet due to steering problem and found this website. You can be driving down the road and the steering wheel will lock up and not move for several seconds. It would be very easy to have a accident you need the wheels to turn, but the wheel want move. I think my husband thought I was crazy until he happen to be with me the other day and witness this. …”
