“In december 2009 there was a loud rumbling sound coming from the front of my car. I took it to merlins & was told it was both front wheel bearings. I paid $600 to have the bearings repaired. Now in september 2011 I'm having the same problem that the front bearings need to be repaired.”

NHTSA complaint #10434943, filed 2011-11, 51,000 miles

“Our van makes a grinding or rubbing noise coming from the front end/axles. It is especially noticeable when we are turning. It sounds like a fluttering/grinding of metal or some part that is revolving with the wheels as we drive.”

NHTSA complaint #10583851, filed 2014-04, 47,000 miles

“I have a 2008 Chrysler town & country van with just 22,000 miles on it and have been told I need new brakes and rotors. I have never had to replace brake pads at this low of mileage. I have heard from others that this is a problem with these vans due to the rotors and brake pads being to small. I feel that Chrysler should be made to recall these vehicles and put adequate brakes on them.”

NHTSA complaint #10294601, filed 2009-12, 22,436 miles

“When accelerating, my 2008 Chrysler Town And Country sounds like a jet taking off. Took it to my dealer and he said that the wheel bearings are no good. Also told me that there is a recall on wheel bearings for my model year but my van was produced three months after the recall date. How do I convince Chrysler that this is a defect in my car as well and should be included in the recall? This is according to my local Chrysler service manager.”

NHTSA complaint #10379331, filed 2011-01, 55,000 miles

“At approx 30,000 miles, I rotated the tires, the front/rear brakes were shot. I replaced everything. I later learned about the recall. Brewbaker Chrysler told me too bad, I guess you learned a lesson when I brought them my receipts for the brake parts. Around the same time, I was replacing the wiper blades when I notice the driverside front strut tower was severely rusted. Water is trapped in the cup of the strut tower and had eaten quite a bit. Shortly thereafter, I traded the vehicle. …”
