“I went out and started my van, the wipers turned on automatically so I thought maybe I had turned the handle somehow... So I turned it off and that's when everything went wrong. All the dash lights started flashing and cycling through start up checks and then saying everything is off ABS, airbags etc. The seat was even repositioning itself. I took out my phone and started recording this weird episode that I have never seen before. I bought this van 5 months ago and don't know of its history, but this is not something anyone should have to deal with. …”
NHTSA complaint #10918650, filed 2016-10, 135,000 miles“2009 Chrysler Town And Country van. Top model. While driving at highway speeds the rear seat (with kids strapped into seat belts) will start to fold, pinning the child. (there is nothing even remotely close to the buttons that control the seats position. Seat also acts abnormal once you stop the van and press the buttons to put it back into correct position.) this is the fourth time this has occurred since we bought the van in early 2009.”
NHTSA complaint #10313337, filed 2010-02, 16,900 miles“November 9, 2011 had to replace rear brakes for the 2nd time in less than 2 years in ownership of vehicle. Tire sensor failed and tire deployed. April 4, 2013 additional tire sensors blow out or failed without any prior notification had to replace 3 tire sensors. Brakes also had to be replaced within a 15 month period. Less than 20,000 miles. There is clearly something wrong with the products/material used to construct this vehicle. 2013 heating unit appears to overheat my driver seat causing leather on seat to began to crack. …”

NHTSA complaint #10837632, filed 2016-02, 98,000 miles“The contact owns a 2009 Chrysler Town And Country. While driving approximately 40 MPH, the engine stalled without warning. The vehicle was able to be restarted and resumed normal operation. The failure occurred three times. The contact referenced NHTSA campaign number: 14v373000 (electrical system); however, the part needed for the repair was unavailable. In addition, the front driver seat would not remain in a secure position and constantly moved while the vehicle was in motion. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired.
