“On second row swivel and go seat...seatbelt retractor failed, we only had the car 10 days before this happened...we have been having other problems with this seat. Armrest becoming so loose that it falls to the floor, trim problems. The van only had 493 miles.”
NHTSA complaint #10237375, filed 2008-08, 492 miles“While driving at any speed the van randomly starts blinking all lights on the dashboard and then the driver power seat starts randomly going forward and backwards which creates a very dangerous driving situation. This has happened on multiple occasions and is started to become more frequent. When this happens we immediately pull over to the side of the road because at times you cannot touch pedals because the seat is extended to the full length making it hard to reach the pedals. Our van has never been in an accident, this just started happening this month.”
NHTSA complaint #10702760, filed 2015-03, 59,765 miles“During a recent family vacation, we loaded our 2008 Chrysler Town And Country for the first time with a lot of luggage. The third row has power folding seats with the wider side having a car seat and the smaller side unoccupied. While trying to retrieve items from the rear during a rest stop, the luggage shifted and activated the power folding seat. Thankfully, the seat my child was in didn?t fold because of the car seat. The other seat proceeded to fold and crush everything on it. …”
NHTSA complaint #10254842, filed 2009-01, 3,000 miles“I was cleaning behind the drivers side, middle row seat with a shop vac. I wanted to clean under the seat so I pulled the handle to disengage the seat from the floor. The back of the chair released from the floor and tipped forward. I had my right hand on the back of the chair to assist it and when the chair came forward the sear adjusted itself and slid down towards the floor. Somehow, when the chair slid forward it trapped my ring finger on my right hand in what I would call the seat rails. It basically smashed it flat against the back of a bolt so tight I could not free it. …”
NHTSA complaint #10537942, filed 2013-08, 60,000 miles“2008 Chrysler town & country touring van, bought in january of 2008. Since I bought the van the radio had to be replaced twice, the dvd player and monitors had to be replace, and the back shock or strut leaked all the fluid out on my garage floor. The sliding doors both operate when they want, they will start to close and then just reopen, if you try to close they don't want to, the back hatch has done the same thing. The driver's window had to be fix twice because it wouldn't open or close and they told me it was the sound barrier that had fallen off of the door and it need to be reattached. …”
