“The engine shut off without warning while driving at 35 miles per hour, driving in a straight line, not turning, on city street. The engine was running smoothly until it quit. After rolling to a stop, I was able to put the car in park and restart the engine. It ran smoothly without problem until I reached my destination about 20 miles away.”

NHTSA complaint #11163981, filed 2018-12, 76,000 miles

“While driving, the engine cut out and I lost power to steering and brakes. The traction control light then came on when I finally pulled over. After resetting, the vehicle started and drove normally. If this happened on a busy road, serious injury would have occurred to the passengers in my vehicle and anyone else I would have struck due to loss of control.”

NHTSA complaint #11113197, filed 2018-07, 147,000 miles

“For a few months now the van will sometimes not start, even if starting it back up immediately after just driving it. It has died in the middle of the road while driving with no steering capabilities, it hesitates when driving between 35-40 MPH. I never know if it's going to start back up after I shut it off, or when it's just going to decide to lock up and die while driving.”

NHTSA complaint #11181953, filed 2019-02, 126,000 miles

“My vehicle shutsdown intermittently right after starting it either remotely or via the key. This tends to happen after the vehicle sits for a bit. The traction control light comes on and the car shuts down - no power steering etc. I just bought this vehicle and have not replaced anything yet. A google search indicates this is a common issue. Any help or direction to resolve the issue would help.”

NHTSA complaint #11378223, filed 2020-12, 85,600 miles

“Traveling around a curve on city street dry pavement at 25mph , without warning all power , steering control, brakes gone. Entire car shut down while in motion, ran off road, no brake control, by the grace of god , I nor anyone else was killed or seriously injured. When car came to complete stop on its own before hitting someones house, I could put car in park and restart. Now afraid to drive that van”
