“My wife was sitting in the passenger seat and got hit in the back of head by the headrest. I was driving approximately 45mph on a city street when it deployed violently for no reason whatsoever. We have never been in an accident with this vehicle so there's no reason this should have happened. It gave her a pretty good headache too.”

NHTSA complaint #11365054, filed 2020-10, 96,000 miles

“I was park in my driveway in park getting ready to go. When all of a sudden my passenger side headrest burst open. Luckily no one was on the seat at the time. But I believe with the force it cam out it could had giving some one a concussion. I would have hate ut if one of my kids was there when it burst open.”

NHTSA complaint #11342605, filed 2020-07, 104,325 miles

“My wife was involved in a very serious rollover accident this past week (11/18) in our 2013 Dodge Durango SUV. She was hit in the rear quadrant and flipped several times coming to a rest on the roof. We have 3 children (who were luckily not in the car at the time) who would have been severely injured if not killed in this accident as none of the air bags deployed. This happened on merritt parkway in ct”

NHTSA complaint #11375841, filed 2020-11, 105,000 miles

“My husband was driving and the headrest popped open as if he had an accident. He was driving on a highway in the middle of a city, stayed in one lane. There was no accident or sudden stop or anything simulating an impact. The headrest hit my daughter in the head causing a headache.”

NHTSA complaint #11363998, filed 2020-10, 89,745 miles

“Vehicle was stationary in my driveway, I was sitting in the driver seat. Vehicle was running, but in park , driver's door open. My husband reached in from outside to hug me goodbye, and the driver's side headrest popped open. Powerful enough to move my head forward, but not powerful enough to cause pain or injury. We tried to put it back together (not realizing that there was an airbag in there), and were unsuccessful. I drove approximately 4 miles to work afterwards, adjusting the seat a bit so as not to impede my posture.”
