“As I was parking my 2014 Dodge Journey in front of my home the steering went out on me. I could no longer steer the car. Previous to it going out I heard a knocking noise every time I turned the wheel. After the steering went out when I turned to the left there was a hissing sound. Of course it is not covered under warranty.”

NHTSA complaint #11093867, filed 2018-05, 44,400 miles

“While driving in normal conditions on the highway, the vehicle brakes were applied and I began to loss control of the vehicle. The vehicle then flipped over on its side and airbags eventually deployed. I was taken to the hospital for potential injuries from the incident. No citations were given for the loss to indicate negligence on my end. I believe this may have been resulted from the current recall on the vehicle.”

NHTSA complaint #10809176, filed 2015-12, 46,000 miles

“Journey will drive and turn just fine, then without warning it becomes extremely hard to turn or will not turn at all, especially on a right turn. It happens most often when going 20mph or less (even more often when backing up). I almost hit someone saturday because it locked up in the middle of my turn. It has been happening several times a day. I took it to dealer before and they couldn't find anything they said. …”

NHTSA complaint #10785969, filed 2015-10, 30,000 miles

“The car stalled on me twice nearly getting into a wreck. Took it to the dealership where I bought it from they put it on the computer. They said that they could not find anything wrong. Then about 21/2 weeks later it did it again. I have a print out of the computer analysis.”

NHTSA complaint #10643547, filed 2014-10, 11,000 miles

“We purchased a 2014 Dodge Journey on 8/04/2016 under the assumption that the vehicle was certified. We eventually got the dealer to agree for us to bring the vehicle back to be certified and address all the other concerns. We picked the vehicle up in ny, heading home to pa and the car caught on fire while driving on the highway with my wife, our only daughter, two youngest sons, and myself. We were stranded, the dealer and manufacture did nothing including the warranty company. …”
